Apple fined 2 million in Brazil

The iPhone 12 will not have a charger, Brazil could not accept that. Procon-SP, the country's consumer rights watchdog, has fined Apple about 1.92 million. Engadget quoted Tilt and Macromeres as saying.

The company said the lack of a charger with the iPhone 12 violated the country's consumer protection code. Procom-SP informed Apple about this last December.

Apple responded to the company's allegations as an environmental aid initiative. The technology giant claims that this will reduce carbon dioxide emissions and the extraction of rare minerals. It is mentioned that many buyers have chargers. However, the company was not satisfied with Apple's response. So Apple was told to comply with Brazilian law.

There are also 'false' promises to claim that the iPhone is waterproof. Despite the warranty, Apple has refused to fix the water-damaged iPhone.

Apple will appeal the fine.
