YouTube and Facebook are still the dominant social media platforms in the United States, but Facebook is not growing. This information was obtained from a report published by the Pew Research Center.
YouTube and Facebook are the most used platforms, the report said. But between the two, only YouTube is growing. Consumer growth has increased from 63 percent in 2019 to 61 percent in 2021. However, the growth of Facebook has fallen to 69 percent since 2019.
Facebook's growth has been steady over the past five years, but it remains one of the most popular social media sites for adults in the United States, the Pew report said.
Significant growth has also been seen in the case of other platforms, Reddit. It has increased from 11 percent in 2019 to 16 percent in 2021. The growth of other social media is not as noticeable.
According to the report, YouTube is 95 per cent, Instagram 61 per cent, Facebook 60 per cent and Snapchat 65 per cent of the most influential social media in the country.
