Samsung claims to have the highest download speeds in the sector using advanced telecommunications technology. The company has used both 5G and 4G LTE base stations in this technology.
Technology site Senate reports that Samsung received a download speed of 5.23 gigabits per second in a test run in Suon, south of Seoul.
The company claims that at this speed, a full-HD movie can be downloaded in six seconds with the Galaxy S20 Plus smartphone. It uses e-UTRAN New Radio Dual Connectivity (N-DC) technology.
EN-DC technology helps mobile operators to get 5G speeds and increase speeds from 4G.
Samsung said that they have been able to combine 40 MHz 4G frequency and 800 MHz 5G frequency in MMWave.
Last year, the company was able to accelerate up to 4.25 Gbps using their MU-MIMO technology. The latest achievement surpasses that, according to news agency Eonhap.
"This successful display replicates a fast, stable and efficient way to 5G," says Samsung.
The South Korean technology giant is trying to increase its presence in providing end-to-end 5G services, including chipsets and radios. The company has signed agreements with telecom operators in countries such as the United States, Canada and New Zealand to supply 5G network content.
