TickTock is in a tough position to prevent fake information. The short video service is trying hard to keep up with the crowd of critics. Following this, Tiktak has removed about three and a half lakh fake videos related to the elections between July and December last year.
According to the company's latest report, a total of about eight and a half million removed videos have spread false information about the US presidential election and the coronavirus. But most of it was around the election.
In addition to election-related videos, TickTock has removed another 441,000 clips, which are checked and sorted by third-party fact-checking. In these clips, unproven facts have been claimed as true.
At the same time, 51,505 videos have been removed for misrepresenting Covid-19. TickTock said 6 percent of the clips were removed within 24 hours of release. In addition, when these videos were removed, 61 percent had no views.
